Аннотация

Developing speaking skills is a critical goal for English as a Second Language (ESL) learners, yet challenges such as limited practice opportunities, language anxiety, and cultural barriers often hinder progress. This study explores effective strategies to improve speaking proficiency, focusing on innovative, learner-centered approaches to bridge gaps in existing pedagogical practices. Despite the wealth of research on language teaching methods, insufficient attention has been given to integrating socio-cultural factors, personalized feedback, and modern technology in addressing learners' diverse needs. Using a mixed-methods design, the study combined qualitative data from interviews with 10 experienced ESL instructors and quantitative performance metrics from 120 intermediate-level ESL learners. The intervention included structured interactive activities such as group discussions, role-plays, and technology-based learning tools, alongside personalized feedback mechanisms. Learners participated in a 12-week program, and their speaking progress was assessed through pre- and post-intervention evaluations. Findings indicated that task-based and interactive activities significantly improved fluency and confidence, while role-plays enhanced learners’ ability to use language contextually. Incorporating technology, such as mobile apps and online speaking platforms, increased engagement and provided flexible learning options. Personalized feedback was found to be instrumental in addressing specific areas of difficulty and sustaining motivation. The study concludes that combining traditional methods with innovative, tailored strategies is vital for improving ESL speaking skills. The findings underscore the importance of integrating digital tools and fostering a supportive learning environment. These insights provide practical implications for educators and policymakers seeking to design more effective ESL programs. Future research should examine the long-term impacts of these strategies across diverse learner populations.
