Abstract

The paper systematically explored the problems hindering development of E-library in the tertiary institutions in Nigeria. Through a review of current literature on online publications and print resources and content analysis. The paper concluded that insufficient funding, inadequate infrastructure, limited access to electricity, poor internet services, lack of training and shortage of experts are the problem hindering development of E-library in the tertiary institutions in Nigeria. To address these problems, the study recommends an increment in the budgetary allocation for the library in the tertiary institutions. This will help to address the problems of the insufficient funding, inadequate infrastructure and limited access to electricity, poor internet services, lack of training and shortage of experts in the system. Private international organizations should support library development by providing financial support and facilities.
